Can you be a successful accountant without becoming a CPA?
I’m a senior accounting major and I am not sure if I want to go for the masters and become a CPA. In the beginning I did but now I have two toddlers and I don’t know if I would have the time to devote it school right now. I am considering maybe starting a home-based business doing consultation or bookkeeping. I do not want to become a millionaire or anything just make a comfortable salary every month. Maybe $3000-$4000 a month. Does this sound like a good idea?

Which 4-year university in Chicago has the best accounting program?
I am 28, and thinking of going back to school to get an accounting degree and either go on to get my CPA or CFA, or both. However, which university is the best for accounting? I’ve read online that UIC has a nationally ranked accounting program, but how about DePaul or Loyola?
