Where can I get a free copy of a personal accounting software?
I am too cheap to buy a program so I would like to know a place where I can download a free copy. I am looking for a home accounting program like Quickbooks, Microsoft Money, or Quicken. Thanks!

Sold my house and want to pay off business line of credit with proceeds. How would I show in accounting?
There was a profit on the sale of my house, so I thought I’d use it to pay off my business line of credit. I don’t know how to show this properly in my accounting software. Is this ‘owner’s investment’? Will I have to pay income tax on it if I do this? Can I set it up as a loan to the company and then pay it back with payments?

Why isn’t superb accounting software used to actually DEVELOP safety critical systems ?
Aren’t software projects bedevilled by the lack of proper tools ?
(Good tools are initially ordered, but somehow they are replaced by less useful tools, and quality and progress continue to fall off).

There would exist superb accounting software.
That accounting software would be able to capture audit trails of all changes to experimental and operational software.
So why not use the accounting software as the main development tool ?
I have to write a 3 page paper on an accounting software package other than Excel?
